Hinduism.
The Aryan religion came to be what is now known today to be Hinduism. Also known as Sanatana-Dharma, Hinduism is one of the oldest religions still practiced. There are four holy books of the Hindu religion which are called the Vedas. The Vedas are written in Sanskrit, Aryans native language. A belief of this religion is that people live out many lives until they meet spiritual perfection, this theory is called Reincarnation. Those who practice this religion worship three main gods: Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver and Shiva the Destroyer. Hindus also value the practice of meditation, have holidays like Diwali, and believe in reincarnation.
The caste system.
The Aryans divided themselves into social classes: Priests, Warriors, Farmers, and Merchants, Common People. They also added a lower class for the conquered Indians. These social classes led to India's Caste System, once a person was born into a caste they were not aloud to change their caste, or mix with members of another caste. The Brahmans, the priests and scholars, were at the head of the case while the Kshatriyas, the rulers and warriors, the Vaisyas, farmers and merchants and the Sudras, the laborers, craftworkers, and servants were all underneath the Brahmans. Below all the castes were the untouchables, they did all the unwanted jobs in society, such as garbage pickup. Reincarnation played a big part in the Caste System. The Hindus believed that if they did not complain and did their job then they would be born into a higher social class during their next life. Click Here to play a game but study before you do!
